</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>So far, Williams has been a better blocker than receiver. He has just eight catches for 179 yards and one touchdown on the season and hasn't shown an ability to get seperation in man coverage. He has a tough matchup against Broncos RCB Andre' Goodman this week.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Coach Wade Phillips revealed Monday that Roy E. Williams damaged cartilage in three of his ribs during the Cowboys' Week 4 loss.
Williams' status for Week 5 is in doubt, and the Cowboys could hold him out with a bye coming in Week 6. Williams' ribs are not cracked, but he's likely in a considerable amount of pain. The $54 million receiver is on pace for just 44 catches and 856 yards through four weeks. Should he miss a game, Sam Hurd would see more snaps opposite the Pat Crayton/Miles Austin rotation.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Roy Williams (ribs) missed practice for a second consecutive day Thursday.
Williams still believes he has a shot to play Sunday, but we'd feel much better about his chances if he at least returned to a limited session on Friday. We'd keep him on fantasy benches until he's fully healthy. Miles Austin would be an acceptable bye-week fill-in if Williams is held out this week.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Though Cowboys coach Wade Phillips will wait until Sunday morning before declaring him out, he admitted Friday "it's not looking good" for Roy Williams (ribs) this week.
"We'll see where he is today and see if there's a chance he'll be ready to play or not," Phillips said. "Right now I'd say no but that could change today or tomorrow." Williams is officially a game-time decision, but we're expecting Miles Austin to draw the start in his place. Austin is worth consideration as a bye-week fill-in.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Roy Williams (ribs) is listed as doubtful for Week 5 against Kansas City.
Miles Austin is going to start opposite Patrick Crayton and has a good matchup against the Chiefs' slow corners. Williams is dealing with cartilage damage to his ribs. We suspect he'll return after the Cowboys' Week 6 bye.

Miles Austin will get the start opposite Patrick Crayton and is a decent flex play if you're desperate. The Cowboys have a bye in Week 6, so Williams should be good to go in Week 7 baring any setbacks.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Cowboys coach Wade Phillips revealed Friday that he is considering holding Roy E. Williams (ribs) out for Week 7.
Williams has practiced all week, but hasn't looked good doing it. "You can tell he's in pain sometimes during practice, catching the ball," Phillips said. "I think it's lessened as the week has gone along, but we'll see where he is today." How Williams looks in Friday's practice will be a deciding factor. Miles Austin could be a target monster against Atlanta if he can't play.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>According to the Dallas Morning News, Roy Williams "will play" through his ribs injury Sunday versus Atlanta.
Williams is listed as probable, so he's slated to start. However, coach Wade Phillips indicated early Friday that he has doubts about whether Williams can make it through four quarters. While Williams claims he feels "good," he may be a less significant part of the game plan than usual. Miles Austin and Jason Witten appear to be just as good, if not better bets for targets.
